CertainKey 's CertainRelease service addresses two issues:
guaranteed delivery and timed delivery.
Let us suppose you want to e-mail an announcement to a group, but you
need to make sure that the announcement coincides with a conference call.
You want everyone to be on a level playing field, so you want everyone to
receive the information simultaneously. And, obviously, you don't want
anyone to be left out in the cold.
Your announcement may be a fairly large file that requires some time to
download. You cannot be sure that all recipients will receive it as quickly
as others so this requires that the message be sent sufficiently in advance.
Previously, there was no way to efectively limit when a file could be opened.
Here's how CertainRelease helps: it sends out an encrypted e-mail with
attachments long before the event, and uses several common techniques
to make sure that it gets delivered (re-sending the message if it gets lost
in transit, etc.). Your attachment is encrypted in a way that functions like a
timed lock on a bank vault -- it can only be opened at (or after) a certain time.
So, for the previous example, you can specify that the e-mail should be unreadable
until ten minutes into your conference call.
CertainRelease is perfect for several common scenarios:
- Critical announcements to investors or employees
- Sensitive data that needs to precede you as you travel. Perhaps you
send large files to a client site, but would prefer that the client not
look at them before your arrival
- Press releases and new product/service announcements
Think of CertainRelease as a portable bank vault: you don't mind the
information getting there early, but you want to make sure that it cannot
be opened or tampered with until a pre-defined time.
